FORUM® Viewer App
Review patient data wherever you want
Your Challenge
In the mobile world we live in, easy access to information is absolutely crucial. Ophthalmology is no exception. Eye care professionals like yourself are increasingly mobile too. You have a growing demand for mobile solutions capable of providing workflow support beyond the eye care facility. For example, the ability to access patient examination data whenever and wherever needed offers greater flexibility in structuring your day.
Our FORUM® Solution
The FORUM Viewer App for iPad enables you to flexibly access and display patient data and records stored in the FORUM® Archive – at your convenience. It further expands your FORUM options, allowing you to preview examination data wherever and whenever you want prior to seeing a patient. You can conveniently display results during a patient consultation, discuss a case with a colleague, or review examination findings and reports from any location.
FORUM Archive
Central storage solution for ophthalmic exam data
Your Challenge
To move away from paper-based archiving of diagnostic exam data, eye care practices and institutions are looking for centralized electronic archiving solutions that provide data safety and compatibility with other viewing or archiving systems.
There is also the need for multiple diagnostic instruments to share raw data through a central database for increased flexibility. By enabling this data share, patient exams and their analysis (e.g. progression analyses) function independent of the individual instrument.
Our FORUM® Solution
FORUM® Archive centrally stores DICOM examination data from multiple diagnostic instruments, making it a true ophthalmic Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
As such, it also stores the raw data of ZEISS OCT instruments (e.g. CIRRUS HD-OCT) and visual field analyzers (Humphrey® Field Analyzer/HFA II-i), enabling access to all examination data from any instrument and Review software – regardless of which instrument a patient was examined on. FORUM Archive provides data safety and consistency across the board and is particularly useful for practices working with multiple CIRRUS OCTs or HFAs.
Outstanding Features
Centrally stores diagnostic data from ophthalmic DICOM instruments and integrates with other DICOM software systems Centrally stores raw data from ZEISS OCTs (e.g. CIRRUS HD-OCT) and visual field analyzers (Humphrey Field Analyzer/HFA-II-i) Enables retrieval of all examination data from ophthalmic instrument or Review workplace Enables instrument-independent raw data analysis by providing raw data access e.g. for CIRRUS HD-OCT Review software Backup functionality ensures data security and integrity

FORUM® Glaucoma Workplace
See the solution from every angle.
Doctors want the ability to analyze HFA™ data in their office – and now, with the FORUM® Glaucoma Workplace from Carl Zeiss, they have it. The FORUM Glaucoma Workplace uses the same STATPAC™ engine as the HFA. Guided Progression Analysis (GPA™) analyses are automatically performed and instantly available once three or more exams have been stored. For the first time, you can change the baselines for GPA analyses and generate HFA reports from a Mac or PC right in your practice.
Streamline your Workflow
The FORUM® Glaucoma Workplace easily allows you to review and generate HFA reports directly in the FORUM® Viewer. For follow-up visits, a GPA summary can be automatically produced following 3 or more exams. And, with just a single click of the mouse, baseline exams can be changed and outliers removed. Additional to the GPA screen a serial overview of visual field exams is available.

FORUM® LINK Tools
Connecting non-DICOM instruments to the FORUM Central Archive for efficient data management
Your Challenge
More and more eye care practices are converting to digital data management. Yet the integration and documentation of data from many diagnostic instruments which cannot be connected to the network or which do not comply to the DICOM standard continues to be very cumbersome. Until now.
Our FORUM® Solution
With the FORUM® LINK Tools from Carl Zeiss, instruments from other manufacturers which do not have a DICOM or network interface can now also be seamlessly integrated into the enhanced FORUM® data management workflow.
FORUM® LINK net
With this application, images or reports from instruments without DICOM interface can be transferred and associated to the correct patient record in FORUM, where they are stored as DICOM files. Patient demographics do not have to be keyed in, but rather can be selected from work lists created in FORUM®.
FORUM® LINK Port
This application lets you link non-networked instruments to FORUM. The tool captures data from the instrument’s parallel printer port, converts them into DICOM files and transfers these files to FORUM. As with FORUM® LINK net, patient demographics can be selected from worklists created in FORUM®.
FORUM® ASSIST Match
Fast identification of patient record inconsistencies
Your Challenge
When migrating the legacy data of different diagnostic instruments to the enhanced data management environment of FORUM®, patient record inconsistencies such as duplicate files frequently occur due to alternate name spellings or different patient IDs. These data irregularities should quickly be removed by identifying and merging duplicate records. The first step in the data cleansing process is finding these duplicate records.
Our FORUM® Solution
FORUM® ASSIST match is a new and highly efficient software tool designed to quickly find duplicate patient records stored in the FORUM® Archive.
As such, it can save practices a tremendous amount of time, effort and costs in manually locating duplicate patient records. Once identified with FORUM® ASSIST match, the duplicate records can easily be merged.
Outstanding Features
- Performs a thorough and accurate scan of all FORUM Archive patient records
- Quickly identifies patient file inconsistencies
- Displays patient data inconsistencies in easy-to-understand overview
- Allows definition of individual search criteria
FORUM® ASSIST match 1.2 is currently under development and will only be available with FORUM 3.1.
